Klappenschrank zu 5 Leitungen

The housing and front plate also built from scratch , cut and bend manually.

Interesting to put his text together and the details of assembling over the months.

Here is what he wrote:

It’s Easter now and I’m still making the switchboard.
I made a new frame and back cover with contacts. I had to edit a lot of details by hand.
I had to estimate the location of some details, holes and some dimensions.
(It would be nice to do the documentation and burn the parts with a laser and use a machine for bending.)

I started making bundles of wires. I don’t think it looks the worst.
I used wires from the Polish switchboard

I didn’t make the cables this time. I bought cables from some unidentified switchboards and installed Czech connectors. They are similar to the German, but they have a smaller diameter and the pin is a little shorter. The “female” contacts are also from the Czech military switchboard.
The upper switches are from the Polish switchboard.
Some parts are a little different in detail than the German ones.
I first used stainless steel screws to assemble the front panel. But they were too shiny and the shape of the head was not good. The six upper screws are original and the others are modified brass screws and tinned.
Switchboard is functional – lines can be connected, bell is ringing and flaps are falling. 🙂
It’s not done yet and I have to do some little things.
I put a label with line numbers into production.
