Wehrmacht Handsirene JURK 1940

Wehrmacht Handsirene JURK 1940

Totally restored this handheld siren, but no pics found to support it is an issued item to the front line troops or it is a Luftschutz item.

However there is a Waffenamt mark found on the stand in double stamped WaA38.

By JURK Sirenfabrik Radeberg (Sn) 1940, no.3424.

It should be for troop level to warn a small area of the enemy aircrafts in sight, as its size limited the area received the warning.

Any photos of this siren in use or carrying by troops are welcome.

The siren for Luftschutz  is much larger and with a stand to the ground, it can covering a large area of the incoming air raid.

However it is fun to display two Luftschutz helmets with it for a photo shot.

Lucky almost nothing are missing, the volume handle and spring are intact and like new, no cracks on the Bakelite, only the end sphere of the handle had lost.

The hood been crushed at one side and paint scratched but restorable.

It been hammered back to shape and primed before final color coat.

The brown red Bakelite parts are so wonderful after cleaned the decades old dirt and covered by a coat of clear.

Itching to make the canvas hood and carrying strap by reference from fjm44.https://fjm44.com/product/wehrmacht-issue-hand-operated-air-raid-siren/

All hand stitches as I can’t manage to use the sawing machine yet.

The only major part to be search for is the square belt clip, hopefully it’ll appear on eBay someday.
