WHR Intercom System 1.0
Since the first launch of the Junction Box on Autumn 2017, to connect the headset and throatmic with normal two and three prong plugs to the walkie talkie and smartphone.
The demand of an intercom system was constantly received, as the walkie talkie are unable to function inside a metal box.
With the help from my brother in law an expert of vintage vacuum tube amplifier, WHR Intercom System 1.0 is born.
WHR Intercom System 1.0
This system is not intended to link with any existing period or modern radio system.
It is a simple standalone system:
One Master Box–The A Box.
With one or two Slave boxes–The B1 Box and the B2 Box.
All three boxes has two prong and three prong sockets for Headset and Throatmic to plug in.
Audio cables with GX16 Aviation plugs are to be link between Box A to Box B1 & B2.
The ‘Master’ Box A is able to talk to both B1 and B2 Boxes simultaneously, B1 and B2 can talk back to Box A with radio discipline of course.
However the B boxes are unable to talk to each other.

The Master–Box A

Steel housing with wall mount plates.
Main circuit board inside sealed by liquid Potting compound to protect circuit board and soldering points against vibration in vehicle.
Power by 12V/500mA DC with two core cable and GX 16 Aviation plug in length to the battery location(not included).
Sockets for Headset and Throatmic.
On/Off switch with waterproof sleeve, with red LED power indicator (not show in pics but found necessary during test run)
GX16 Aviation socket x 2 for Slave box(es) B1 and or B1, B2
Optional to connect with one or two Slave box(es) without distortion.
Volume turning knobs for Main Box and Slave box(s).
Output: 2W.
The Slave(s)-Box B (B1, B2)
$168 inclusive 5m cable with sockets.
Size: L125 x W75 x H 53mm
Steel housing with wall mount plates.
Sockets for Headset and Throatmic.
GX16 Aviation socket x 1 for connect to Master box.
Epoxy seal all solder points to withstand vibration. As no circuit board inside no needs to apply liquid Potting compound.
Output: 3W.
Cables
The exact length of each cable are varying on each vehicle.
Please take measures from the desired location of the Master Box to:
a. 12V DC battery location.
b. Slave box B1 and B2 location (s).
There are 5 meter / 5 Yards cables inclusive with each box.
Extra cable length are available for purchase.
All cables are preinstalled matching GX16 aviation plugs.
Or separate GX16 aviation plug at one end for user to install.
