Remove and install ‘Fingers’

There are three difference grade of Bakelite to combine the housing, the most solid it the base of the connectors, it is smooth like ABS in brown color.

Tried to drill a 2mm hole beside each ‘finger’ to let it has room to move without develop cracks.

Then gently tapping the side of the finger on both side until it moves, eventually it breaks into top and bottom parts from the shaft opening.

There was no cracks after removed all 20 pieces out.

To clean the entire base and openings before insert the new ‘Fingers’.

Its a straight forward job, just some of the openings are quiet tight, again gentle tapping it until reached the horizontal shafts, the new design of the ‘Fingers’; are to sits on the shaft. 

Then fills the base and drilled holes by epoxy glue, the Bakelite base mount had found deformed, lucky to clamped it to the Klappenschrank to settle overnight before went to bed, the “Fingers’ at one side are not in right angle on next day.

Sand smooth the filling and paint in dark brown, the base is like new now.
