German design always either genius or over engineering, recent example was the DKE38 Batterie, those well placed stoppers on it wooden board door spent me long time to figure out its secret.
Since I rebuilt my WR.kl. replica n last October, I am searching for the details of its door, and dug out its secret.
These are the pics I collect from the net, and with the help of Fritze Knie, I got the needed dimensions.
Pic description:
1.This is one of the completed sample survive.
The instruction sheet and sealing on the small side.
The ‘finger’ block the Pertrix stopper, the 2B38/2,4NC28 and the seal at the larger side.
2.This specimen lost its 2B38 stopper, a deep trench at its position, the metal holder n the trench had lost.
3.The tiny metal plate on the left side of the instruction is an interesting design,when closed the small lid, it will pressing the round extension lever to cut off power.
4.The little brown square is the cover of the spare fuses chamber hidden behind the center of the ‘Finger’ block
5.This on lost everything but the metal holder for 2B38 is still in place.
Two sets of holes could be seen on the metal holder.
7.The finger block is placed at the level of the horizontal block of the radio box.
Designed for strengthen the board when outside force apply from front, the finger tips touching the horizontal board to spread the force without damage of the wooden board.
8.A completed finger and brown square, together with the Pertrix press.
9.This unit is designed for holding two difference sizes of batteries, like the flip open fingers on the DKE38B door.
